Hello! I'm looking forward to another great year as the 1st/2nd grade teacher at St. Elizabeth's School and I have lots of engaging and exciting things planned for the school
year!
I am a graduate of Saginaw
Valley State University, with a BA in Elementary Education and minors in
English and Social Studies, and was selected as a distinguished graduate of the
College of Education for 2011. I completed my student teaching assignment at
Marvin G. Atkins Elementary School in Bridgeport and received excellent
evaluations. Before receiving my teaching certificate, I was a Religious Education instructor at Blessed Trinity
Catholic Church for over 11 years and was a substitute teacher in Saginaw
County for four years.
Education has always been
very important to me. I live in the Birch Run area with my husband of 29 years
and together we raised three pretty wonderful sons. My youngest son graduated
from Frankenmuth High School in 2011 and is a student at Michigan State
University. My middle son, who graduated from FHS in 2009, is a SAR Medical
Corpsman in the United States Navy. My oldest son, also an alumnus of FHS, is a
recent graduate of Central Michigan University. He has bachelor degrees in both English and Psychology and a minor in Spanish.
I believe that all students
have the ability to succeed academically. While each student is ultimately
responsible for his or her own success, my job as an educator is to provide the
opportunity, the tools, and the motivation for each student to achieve his or
her full potential and become a life-long learner. I believe education is a
cooperative effort which involves and benefits the teacher, the student, the
parent or guardian, and the community as a whole. Because of these beliefs, I
welcome your comments, concerns and suggestions. Let’s work together for the
success of your child!
